Kind of opalescent white (with the clearish finish on the case.) (I swear, I'm the worst computer customer ever. )
Buffistechnology 3: "Press Some Buttons, See What Happens."
Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!
I was just looking at that, which is what made me revise.
I swear, I'm the worst computer customer ever.
Can you find the internet?
Can you understand how to type in a URL?
Do you know how to cut and paste?
Have you ever spent months complaining long distrance to your sister that your new printer won't work when you had never actually connected it with your computer? Even after said sister asked you over and over if the cables were connected?
It looks like you will need one of these cables to hook up your computer to a VGA display.
sarameg, there was a defect in some iBook G3s that caused the display to die. Apple was fixing the defect for free outside of warranty. (They fixed mine a few years ago.) I'm not sure if the program is still in effect though (I don't see it at apple.com - Home > Support > Exchange & Repair Extension Programs > iBook.)
Which was supposedly included, but I'll have to dig through the box. Guess what I'll be doing at lunch?
And thank you so much. Without having the damned thing in front of me (and able to see the screen) I'm a fount of misinformation and confusion.
eta: thanks tommy. I'll check that out too.
At work, we are thinking of proposing a trial of a handheld wireless device, to allow librarians to walk around the building with patrons to help them while still having access to our online catalog, IM help, etc. I instantly went "ipod touch" but is there something else better and/or cheaper we should consider also?

A PDA with WiFi? Like the Palm TX?
Nintendo DS Lite with Opera browser cartridge?
eta: Re: DS Lite - someone said:
While it may seem simply too outrageous to consider, I just (very successfully) logged in to my AdSense account using my son's Nintendo DS Lite with the relatively new Opera (for devices) browser cartridge.
No additional settings were required other than to get connected to the wireless router.
Browser usability has fairly serious limitations from the standpoint of limited screen size, minimal memory and processing speed but... it IS a serviceable wifi tool for certain applications.
Actually the screen size is larger than most phones and it's certainly easier than hauling a laptop around if you just want to "poke" at the web a bit. All for about $150!
