"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

That's awesome. That'll be good to know if we end up with cable instead of Directv at the new house.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

eSATA's been available for awhile, though it wasn't well documented.

Well, all the relevant parties have won. I'm pricing out HD stuff and even getting a lower rate on my cable.

Are you getting CableCard service? I'll be interested in hearing how that works out for you.

When I said Cable Card to the Time Warner lady she brightly asked me if it was for a TiVo, so I'm kind of optimistic. It's not like back in the day when you were trying to have your home network share one internet connection and the DSL people wouldn't talk about it.

We didn't have much trouble getting Comcast to set up our cable cards back at the end of 2006. I think it only took two visits from the installer.

One thing we discovered is that the cable cards are quite heat-sensitive. When the Series 3 was in the enclosed part of the entertainment center, sometimes the cards would stop working. Since we moved it to an un-enclosed area, they've been rock-solid.

Another HDTV question: a CNet review includes "Sharp's LC-37D90U is too small to take full advantage of its high 1080p resolution" which implies that if I'm shopping for 37" or less, 1080p is not a big deal, and might be money for nothing.

Opinions?
