My E70 came yesterday. It's certainly not as pretty as the Razr, or the Sony Ericsson that preceded that. But it's cool and does many things.
One of the big complaints in reviews was speed. I don't think I'm going to bump into that for a while. Shallowly my first task was customisation--it's all full up of sci fi TV theme music and Dr Who wallpaper (the device name is TARDIS--the unfolding form required that).
I'm trying to do stuff like getting it to grab mail over my wireless network when I'm at home. I am pretty sure I signed up for T Mobile's unlimited plan (I should go check, huh?) so it's only a matter of speed.
It will definitely take some getting used to. It's been a million years since I had a Nokia phone, and this is light years away from those early boxen.
Interestingly enough the unfolding keyboard requires me to type more honestly. I'm usually variable on which hands I use for the keys near the middle of the keyboard--I think I have some subconscious load balancing/speed optimisation happening there.
Amazon was the only place I saw it for sale at a reasonable price with a reputed vendor. They had a deal where you could get a pay-as-you-go international SIM for free, so I snagged that as well. I don't know what their rates are like, but, hey, free.

Juliebird, if you're willing to donate it, try Googling "computer donation" + [your city]. I'm guessing a bunch of charitable organizations will turn up.
We have a handful of such organizations that accept donations of old computers and fix them up for inner-city schools, etc. And/or the Vo-Tech students get to work on them, and THEN they go to the inner-city schools. It's a win-win.
