I am torn between getting a 160GB iPod (because i really *do* need the space, just for music even) and the iPod touch
Wr0d. But I'll almost certainly end up going with the touch. I can handle taking half my music (10 GB) and one season of TV (instead of all of my Buffy) around with me.
Or I might just wait for the next generation, which will have 32 GB, which is my sweet spot anyway. But I probably won't.
If I do it, I'll probably bite the bullet and add T-Mobile WiFi to my cell phone bill. That way Starbucks is paid for for me.
Hmm. I already added T-Mobile WiFi to my service...
But that was because I wasam getting an E70, dammit.
No iTouch for me. Nope. Already have three iPods.
Tangentially, no Foleo.
Hey--when is the new OS X coming out? And how long in advance can you buy a new machine and get a cheap/free upgrade?

Some time in October.

You'll have to wait for Apple to officially announce something.
Seeing as I've purchased 4 Macs in the past 4 days hopefully they will have some kind of deal.
On 4/12/2005, Apple officially announced that the release date for Tiger would be on 4/29, and then only Macs purchased after 4/12 were eligible for a $9.95 upgrade.

True. They've been bad in that regard in the past. At least I'll probably be able to buy a family pack license and do 5 machines for $199.
What would happen, if one were to buy a single copy and install it in multiple machines. I mean, hypothetically. Not that I would ever do that. Not that I ever did that once and nothing bad happened...
Nothing bad happens. Apple doesn't do that level of copy protection on their software.
I make it a habit to always buy the family packs because Apple makes it so easy to get the 5 license pack for less that the price of two licenses so I'm happy to spend the little extra money and stay legal, and to encourage Apple to continue this practice. If a company makes it affordable, easy, and reasonable to stay legal then I will certainly do it.
I agree. We must encourage reasonable prices on stuff. Plus, I'm a huge Apple fan, and wants them to stay alive.
