I had to install the Peacock app on my Chromebook.

Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!
I tried to install the app but it wouldn't let me sign in because I already have a Peacock account. but I'll try again. I can get some of it on YouTube, but it's not all that organized there.
I just replaced my iPhone 12 Mini with a new iPhone 16e. That’s the last time I’ll ever have a normal-sized phone in my life.
I am not sure if anyone reads this anymore, but...
My Friend Maria and I have been sharing a Netflix account since we were passing discs back and forth. I am the owner. We only live a couple of blocks away, so thus far, we have evaded getting caught.
I do not have a tv. She has two. I watch on a Mac desktop.
I now cannot watch Netflix because she is the Netflix household. I can't take it back because it involves scanning a QR code on a tv and I don't have one!
We understood that she might have to pay for her own eventually when we got caught, but we did not anticipate Netflix thinking she is me!
Any thoughts besides me buying a tv to scan the QR code, or just cancelling the account altogether. I can add an extra member (also willing to do that) but I am already the main member!
Should she log out of everything, and I try to log back in? This happened with Amazon, too but the other way (it thought I was the main member, and really she was) and I just logged out of everything and bought my own.
Obviously, I can't really call customer support. I just want to watch Stranger Things when it comes back, so it is not urgent.
Sophia can you not go over to her house and scan the QR code? Then it might just think she is someone who watches Netflix on her laptop at work or something.
We use it in multiple locations and just have to enter a code from time to time. But yes, going over to her house to scan the code seems like a good plan.
I think the code has to be in my house with my wifi. But her brother, my colleague, is going to lend me an apple tv so I think I can do it.
Ok can any apple gurus help me out? I’m confused by iCloud Photos. I don’t want or need ALL of my photos in the cloud! For starters that’s way too many photos and storage. I keep them on my Mac. But what I want is the old photo stream—if I took photos on my phone they were uploaded to the cloud (and if my phone died or got stolen before I could sync to my Mac they were still there) but I still then downloaded them to my Mac and could delete and favorite and so on, and reupload only rhe ones I wanted to keep, to my phone. But now my choice seems to be “don’t have a backup until you sync to your laptop” or “keep eeeeewverything in the cloud”. Am I missing something?
Android users: Since I can no longer update the OS and more and more apps can't be updated/installed I finally decided to give up my beloved iPhone SE. Since I actually still want a headphone jack, I went with the Samsung Galaxy A15, which Verizon had a deal on. But then I realized I actually had to use a Google account to set it up. I try to avoid using Google except when clients require me too, but I guess it's too late.
Anyway, my question is, can I use one of my throwaway Google accounts for set up and downloading apps but then not for anything else? Like, I assume phone contacts will maybe be attached to that, but can you turn off syncing? Would anybody calling or texting see this address? I don't use the cloud with the iPhone so I rarely use my apple id and I'll be continuing to use Fastmail as my primary email. I'm just wondering which of my accounts to choose based on how much is going to be attached to it.

Yes, I think so.
Like, I assume phone contacts will maybe be attached to that,I don't know if there is a way to import contacts from your Apple account to the Google account. There probably is.
but can you turn off syncing?Yes.
Would anybody calling or texting see this address? No, not the .gmail.com address, just the phone number.
continuing to use Fastmail as my primary email.Should not be a problem. Looks like there is a Fastmail app in the Google store.
I can use my phone to send from my yahoo.com email and my outlook.com email if I want to. They are all different apps, with different launch icons.
