You never know if a girl's gonna say 'yes', or if she's gonna laugh in your face and pull out your still-beating heart and crush it into the ground with her heel.

Our wings are not tired.

Nice! No doubt new appreciation and love of science happened among the students too.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Yup, as a teacher, all I want is for them to go home thinking "Okay, how can I use this in the real world?"

Our wings are not tired.

My degree is in Accounting, but I took sciences as electives. It was both as a contrast to my core subjects and because it was so interesting. Took Physics (my favorite), Chemistry, Astronomy, and Geology. Alas, my Chemistry class was pretty mathy and not so much explody. I perhaps should have noticed that I found my electives more interesting than the core classes.

Coding and Sleeping

I had something... bad happen to one of my servers which is why beagle.welarson.net is no longer around. I consolidated servers to save a little money after that.

Art Crawl!!!

I'm having a weird issue with gmail on my laptop: when I try to open an email to read it - nothing happens!

Does this mean that I've done something (which I don't remember) with my settings to make it wonky?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

My custom CSS isn't working to override the background color. It's working on my phone but not on the laptop. Is this some kind of Chrome thing, and if so, how can I make it stop?

call me jacki; zuisa is an internet nick from ancient times =)

My first though is your Chrome cache - it has the old version saved, so it isn't even trying to update to reflect your new CSS. Try Ctrl+F5 (Cmd+F5 if you're on a Mac), and if that doesn't work, try going through Chrome's settings to clear your cache manually.

Whenever I update my website, I find Chrome is the most temperamental about actually displaying changes.

Try Ctrl+F5

AHA. That worked - thanks!

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I have a similar problem at my actual job - I'll update something on the website, tell people it's done ... and then they start bitching that it isn't showing up on THEIR computer. I now automatically add "refresh your browser" note in an attempt to avoid this. And I STILL get complaints from people who can't be bothered with that whole "refresh" thing ....
