I have a similar problem at my actual job - I'll update something on the website, tell people it's done ... and then they start bitching that it isn't showing up on THEIR computer. I now automatically add "refresh your browser" note in an attempt to avoid this. And I STILL get complaints from people who can't be bothered with that whole "refresh" thing ....

Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!
I'm working with someone in my office who wants to learn Photoshop. I've gotten him started, and he'll be working on it right next to me which means I'll be right there when he bogs down, but there are limits to what I can do, since I've been using it for over 20 years (time flies when you're having fun). What would be a good online source for learning? The Adobe.com site? YouTube tutorials? someplace free ... although the higher-ups may be willing to pay for him to take a class ....
Youtube helps, if you find one that doesn't annoy you.
Thanks ... I think he worked through a few tutorials and gave up. It's a lot more complicated (and difficult) than he expected.
Eeeee!! I finally got a new computer (I was using a 2010 MacBook Pro, have now upgraded to a refurbished one from last fall's batch). Now to set it all up how I want...
I googled and searched Paypal forum but no one else seems to have ... noticed this issue. On Facebook, someone posted a fundraiser; I go to donate, it says it will take payment through Paypal, does not ask me to sign in to Paypal, and sends me a receipt. I am concerned about how Facebook can access my Paypal account without me having to sign in. Can anyone help me figure out how and why this happened?
ETA: Nevermind, I found the answer I needed in Facebook's help. In case anyone else wants to know, when you donate through Facebook the first time, it saves the information by default. By going to Facebook, Account, Payments, Settings, I was able to remove the saved payment information.
Gotta say, I'm more weirded out by Facebook saving my Paypal login than I am when Facebook claims that me giving them my cellphone number will make my account more secure.
I never sign into anything through Facebook (or Google). I don't need Zuckerberg or his minions in my business like that.
I vaguely remember donating through a Facebook post before, but I do not remember there being anything about logging into Paypal in that instance that pinged me as substantially different than any other time I use Paypal. EBay and Etsy and other merchants I use it for sure as shootin' don't keep my login information.
Seriously, tech incompetent sister of mine! Just because your facebook page comes up does not prove your internet is working. It isn't. Trust me on this. No, she doesn't know what cache means. Yes, she has worked on a computer for decades. sobbing
eta: and she is arguing that the post says it was 24 min ago. weeps
Having an issue with my computer: it is suddenly telling me that my user profile cannot be authenticated so I cannot log on. What can I do?
