I haven't heard much about Apple's recent event, yesterday. That doesn't seem like a good sign that they did anything very interesting.

Spoken just like someone who still uses function keys, and has more than one kind of port on his computer.

I also bet you still use a land-line telephone, watch VHS tapes, and mount Clovis points on your spears, rather than the obviously superior Folsom point.

Yeah, my personal laptop is so ancient that it has an optical drive.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Clovis points, I assume, have something to do with bunnies.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

They're the fangs.

Of course!

Hah, never heard of Clovis points. But I was anxiously awaiting the Apple event. And not sure now what I want to do...my current laptop is five years old. It's definitely getting up there. But do I want any of the new ones? Especially since they're more expensive than I anticipated? Do I get one of the older ones now that they're going to be on sale, or will it seem old too quick? ...I mean, now I have no need for Thunderbolt ports and DO need USB ones...but four years from now? I see no need for some weird toolbar at the top of the keyboard. But it does have more ports/is faster, also?

(This laptop DOES have a CD/DVD drive. I don't think I've used it in a couple years?)

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Yeah, this is the point where I think I'll try to get a model that's a year (or even 2) old, because I still don't need Thunderbolt ports but I do need USB ports.

Well, they're both Thunderbolt ports AND USB ports (it's a dessert topping, and a floor wax!), but you still need all kinds of cables and dongles to get it to all work with your old USB peripherals.

I'm gonna stick to my present set-up for a couple more years, at least until the USB 3.1 infrastructure is built out a little more.
