Thanks, Jessica.

If this monitor cost the same as this one, which would you recommend? I'm tending away from the former because it only has HDMI input, and this will be my every-device monitor, but otherwise the key differentiator (.6"?)escapes me. And I do like the idea of the narrow stand, because it will be in the living room with a lot of other junk.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Any Sharepoint 2013 Enterprise experts around?

I've just started playing around with this, and for the life of me I cannot figure out how to edit categories in the Issue Tracking module.

WOOHOO

Typing at you on a Chromebook!

While Acer outlet could not send me a replacement charger, they graciously offered to reimburse me if I bought one, which I did and it arrived today and everything apparently works!

Gonna wander off and let it charge in peace for a while, now, but I wanted to share the triumph first.

Whoa, trackpad scrolls the other way. That'll take adjustment.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Can you change the way the trackpad scrolls like you can on a Mac?

Oh, good call, yes you can. "Australian scrolling" is apparently what I want. Huh.

It's because all those Australians are upside-down.

They flush their toilets standing on their heads too.

The other technology item on my shopping list is a replacement printer. I can't deal with inkjet anymore. I never use up cartridges, instead I let them dry out. So I'm looking for a so-ho colour laser printer, wi fi preferable, but definitely on the network, that's not huge, since it will live in the living room.

I've had Brother recommended enthusiastically, which led me to this which looks like a steal at $160. It does have limited paper handling capabilities (I'd love to be able to print on heavy paper--it'll be printing art as much as anything else, but it looks like I have to go up to $290 amongst Brothers.

The HP colour laser at the same (original) price point had significantly less functionality. Are they coasting on rep, or is their print quality that much worth the money?

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I find HP to be overpriced in general.

I'm in the same boat. I've run out of inkjet cartridges, and am contemplating just buying a new printer instead. My current HP multifunction no longer duplexes, faxes, scans other than webscan, or form feeds. So. Kinda not that multi of available functions. I mean, it prints. It copies. I guess that's two. It's a difunction.

Yeah, I need a new printer.

Are you going to go inkjet or laser?

Man, I should get off my ass and buy that $160 printer before it's out of stock. Do they typically come with toner, or should I be getting that at the same time? I could just have the delivery shipped to my nearest store and I can sort that out on the spot.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I'm really pissed at myself, because I had a great deal lined up with a DSLR, two lenses, and a nice Canon printer, for basically the price of the printer. But I second-guessed it and put it off. But then the money for it came in, and I should have taken the deal, because now there's nothing comparable. And I'm going to end up spending twice as much buying the printer and buying the camera.

I wonder if I don't really need a multifunction anymore. I have the NeatDesk (which I don't really use because it came right before camp last year and I never really established a workflow with it and then Evernote partnered with Fujitsu ScanSnap instead and I got all pissy, but honestly, it's an expensive piece of equipment so I really should get after using it) so I could just scan to copy and fax over the internet. It's not like I have a reliable phone connection in this house anyway.

Maybe I should just be looking for a high quality wide format photo printer instead.
