Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!
Awhile back, someone was debating laptop vs tablet, but needed to scan documents (I think).
Anyhow, saw this, and thought I would share with the group. Never used it. Dunno how good/bad it is. It only has 2 reviews. But, it's a iPad dock scanner. Only scans at 300dpi.

When my old computer died by DTP software did not make th e transition. Does anyone have DTP software who is willing to help me out by taking a word file and creating a pdf from it with even justification. Yes, I know that is a native Word capability. But I want real even justification with automatic kerning or whatever the tech is that allows even justification without the funky look even justification in word gives.
Don't need fancy formating, though if you can't stand the MS format you are welcome to play with it. All I really need is true even justification, not word's poor person's version.
Anyway if you are willing to help you have my thanks. My profile addy is good.
Is there a way to print from Google books? (My boss wants me to print a chapter from a book - but I'm not seeing a way to do it.)
Free iOS app that is offering free 50 GB cloud storage for life if you sign up in next 30 days. Who couldn't use 50GB of storage on their iPad/iPhone?

How do you use cloud storage in iOS?
I have a Box account for my business and I've been really happy with it.
Box has an iOS app that allows you to access everything and then open them in the right applications on the iOS device.
sumi,
I have had to take screenshots of google books.
I grabbed that Box offer, but I'm annoyed that they don't allow folder synching under their free plan like Dropbox does. I know I shouldn't complain when it's free...
I grabbed it, and then realized that I already have an account that I'd never even used, mostly because of the lack of syncing and (at the time I signed up, at least) all the clients I needed.
Oh, well. 50GB is 50GB, right?
You know how in browser scroll bars there are arrows on the top and bottom you can click with your mouse in case you don't want to use the slider to scroll? In my edition of Chrome those arrows have disappeared. I have to use the slider. Did I accidentally change a setting? Or has Google just decided that arrows are not cool, that only sliders are cool?
