I pick some favorite art and send it as an ecard...

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Apple hints at .Mac improvements on Tuesday

Which could mean that the iCard service is being retooled right now. Or going away.

Ha! Omnis, how did you DO that!? I scrambled all over .mac and apple.com.

Bless you!

And thanks le nubian...That's a great idea too.

Ugh. "Improvements". That's often a bad sign.

t hugs bookmarked ecard link tight.

eta: to save myself from a heartfelt thank you skewed by a dyslexic spelling error.

Um. Golly. hate to say it, but I just went to my .mac homepage and clicked the link. If you have a .mac account, it's not the top dark grey bar with "store... mac ... ipod ..." in it, but right below it with "mail... address book ... bookmarks... icard ..." If you don't have a mac account, odds are you wouldn't be looking at that page.

Glad to be of service :)

(ps: I had to link you, as I did the same overlook a few weeks ago for a birthday card. Panic sucks when you have a few hours before the day is past and oops I forgot to send a card. Yikes!)

This I know well. Too well.

And seriously, the other ecard sites are made of rubbish, so I'm going to be holy screwed if this one goes down. Is a simple, sophisticated, not flashy/screechy ecard too much to ask for these days? (Funny how I never bookmarked that page...just assuming it would always be there. My naive tag just never seems to close.)

And lo, I do not have a .mac account...3 macs and an ipod, but no .mac account.

So, thanks again. I really appreciate the assist.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I don't think I've ever sent an ecard that wasn't Hallmark. But I'm kinda okay with that.

I agree. The cards are simple, elegant, and, if I recall, a jpg, so folks can right+click and save them, or print them out. No pop up banner. No eye-blinkie annoyance. I'm with you 200%.

I resisted the .mac account. But I got fed up with my ISP wanky e-mail. Then I started making iCal calendars for shows, and it was easy to post to .mac, so I gave in.

All is well that ends in pizza.

I wonder what the possibility I could get my old .mac ID back if I sign up for a free trial account? It's been a couple of years, almost.

I seem to remember that if you quit your account, they offered a forwarding service for free, which would seem to indicate the addy was still available. Try calling rather than signing up on line. Dunno if they'd give you the free month.
