Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I've been trying to update iTunes for like 45 minutes. That's not normal, right? I downloaded, restarted and now I'm supposed to "wait while Windows configures iTunes," but that's been on for like ten minutes. What to do?

Edit: OK, it finally finished. I guess part of the problem was Norton trying to stop iTunes from doing something online.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Some biological technology...

That South Korean scientist who claimed to have created clones of humans, but turned out to be a fraud? May have achieved human parthenogenesis -- by mistake.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Yeah, I saw that story! Is that irony or WHAT?

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Crap. I think I may have gotten a virus on my computer. I think by having an Apple, I'd been lulled into a false sense of security. Any ideas on what to do at this point?

All is well that ends in pizza.

What are the symptoms?

Actual Mac OSX virus infections are still quite rare.

Sophos Anti-Virus has a 30-day free trial [link]

I'm sure there are others.

I was getting a virus warning from my ISP. Turns out, though, that my ISP and Apple are having issues, as I discovered from talking to Apple tech support. Feh.

Still, I'll check out those virus scanners. Better safe than sorry. Thanks for the links, Daniel.

Compassionately intolerant

Minor gripe with related question:

For years, I have used and loved the ecards on the Apple website. Simple, tasteful...no flash or creepy midi-soundtracks.

Apparently, Apple has become too cool for such trivialities...or I've gone blind. I can't find the cards anywhere and a google search gives me no love.

The popular ecard sites, 123, bluemountain, hallmark...all give me the crawling of the skin.

Any recommendations for alternatives?

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Apple hints at .Mac improvements on Tuesday

Which could mean that the iCard service is being retooled right now. Or going away.
