How the heck would the badbios use the microphones and speakers when power was disconnected?

Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!
I just watched a review of the iPad Air on WSJ. He said, depending on bells and whistles, the total price for one of these impressive pieces of technology is $900. Uh, what whistles are those? And how many people end up almost doubling the main price? I mean, I want a thinner faster tablet with better battery life, but I can't think of anything that would value it at near a grand.
The top end model with 128 GB of storage with the Cellular connection.
It's an additional $100 for each storage level (16, 32, 64, 128) and then and additional $139 for the model that includes cellular.
That's some tablet. You can buy a first gen Surface with 64GB for $450, including cover. THEN AGAIN, you can pay $1799 for 512MB, at which point...Mac Air is so pretty...
I've seen one Surface around the office, with a pleased as punch user (he likes his Android phone just fine, but he basically wants a small laptop out of his tablet). I should find out which model he's using.
I do wish my tablet had a kick stand...
Now I need to research the top end Android tablet.
anyone want to walk me through step by step setting up port forwarding on my airport extreme for cube world so mac can play with his friends?
I'm having some difficulty with Wake On LAN. It only works within about five minutes of having turned the PC off. Is there a BIOS setting I need to be tweaking? Router? I've done all the settings in the network card driver (and it's the most recent version), and things seem to be in line with what I see from online research.
But I have encountered no mentions of it working sometime.
(I have done packet capture with the computer on, and the magic packet definitely gets there)

If you haven't gotten any bites, try this:
Is there a way to get my DVR (U-Verse) to connect to my TV wirelessly, say, through something like Apple TV? I've done some heavy-duty rearranging, and having the TV near where the cable actually comes in is less than optimal.
I thought U-verse had wireless TV now.
AT&T wants to give me a free Galaxy Tab 7" for buying a new phone last week. (For values of "free" which include $10/month for 2 years, so actually $240.) Worth it? I have no idea how much a Galaxy Tab actually costs, so this might be a terrible deal.
The main reason I'm considering it at all is there's about a 50/50 chance I'm going to be re-orged out of a job at the end of the year, which would mean giving back my iPad. So getting a free-ish tablet now...might be a good plan.
