Coding and Sleeping

Yes, but I never turn it off.

I have 4.3. (If I switch phones I may go down to 4.1 or 4.2, not 100% sure which.)

I want to be able to see text messages, emails, and missed calls/voicemails. LockerPro Free is great at showing me that I *have* a text message, but it won't show me the actual text (it might in the paid version).

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Have you tried adding widgets to the lock screen? You can add the messaging widget to it. But you'd have to add a widget for every piece of info, which is where getting an app saves effort and consolidates inputs.

Hmm, yeah I'd prefer an all in one solution if I can have one. NILS promised to be that, but after I installed it it worked once and then the widget disappeared completely.

Individual widgets on the lock screen is intriguing! I will try it!

AHA - I figured out my NILS problem. Choosing expanded notifications doesn't work unless you also expand the max number of lines shown. (A one-line expanded notification is...not.) This could be it.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Can someone tech savvy talk to me about Hamachi? Mac is dying for me to get it, "all his friends have it" and it will make it awesome for them to be able to play games together or some such.

Hey. New board.

Yeah Jessica, looks like NILS is your best bet if you keep playing with it. If it becomes incompatible when/if you drop down to a lower level of Android, Widget Locker is pretty good.

Though I'm honestly thinking I might simply disable my lock screen completely. Neither the home button or lock button on my phone are particularly easy to press by accident when its in its case (which is always), so as long as I make sure my phone is off before I pocket it (which is pretty much my habit) then I don't think I really need it. I'm keeping it mostly out of habit at this point.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

msbelle,

I looked into it a few years ago, but I can't help you with pros and cons. Lifehacker has done a bunch of articles on hamachi, so you might start there.

As long as I get work email on my phone, a lock screen will be mandatory. Even though you have to log into the mail app again, the widgets showing meeting and email names might be too much info.

Oh, yay, financials.

So, if I wanted to start a blog, and I want it to be easy to update from my phone or ipad (since it'll be a travel blog, and I'll be...traveling), what would y'all recommend?
