I love my Paperwhite as well. The backlit screen and long battery life and lightness/small profile more than make up for the difficulty I have in navigating the menus (due to the fact that it's a little difficult to page forward in a list of books without actually opening one of the books). The touchscreen has a hard time distinguishing between tap-to-open and tap-to-page-forward.

Touchscreen is why I went with the older-school kindle when I replaced mine in march. Though price was also a factor.

Who wants to help me out with Android notifications? I want an app that will show me notifications on my lock screen, iOS-style. NILS looked promising in the Play store, but it's not working.

Well, the Paperwhite's screen is E-ink, but it has the best contrast I've ever seen. It looks great no matter what the lighting is like and there's zero glare. I much prefer reading on it instead of a tablet.

Does the light on the papers bite turn off?
I've been using the Waze app suggested up thread while I decide on what GPS to get. I like it, but even with my phone volume turned all the way up and the app volume turned all the way up, it's hard to hear the commands when I'm on the highway.

I have 4.3. (If I switch phones I may go down to 4.1 or 4.2, not 100% sure which.)
I want to be able to see text messages, emails, and missed calls/voicemails. LockerPro Free is great at showing me that I *have* a text message, but it won't show me the actual text (it might in the paid version).
