Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!
I'm not that funny. It's because the internut at my house has been hella slow all day and I didn't think it went through, but that's true on all my devices, so.
le nubian, what issues with iOS 7 on the iPad have you been hearing?
tommy, Scola summed it up, but on twitter, the tech people just kept saying that IOS on ipad was not ready for primetime. I haven't had time to check what's up yet, so I'm waiting until the weekend to check it out. Maybe I'll go to Macworld or something.
I really, really love iOS 7 on my iphone 5. The font adjustments (for readability) and typing interface alone are beyond awesome, and then you add in the navigation at the top and bottom of any screen, the amazing Airdrop, and the increased speed of the processor, and it's off the charts. I disliked the look for about five minutes until I adjusted, and now I love it.
I do recommend watching the little intro to iOS 7 video; it clarified some basics for me and eliminated a lot of frustration.
WTF AT&T, I've had this phone almost 4 years. Do not try to charge me some bullshit upgrade fee on top of the $400 I'm about to drop on the goddamn phone.
Re-installing the OS doesn't seem to have fixed it, *or* has corrected it to an intermittent rather than a progressive problem.
However, it might always have been intermittent. After ten or so minutes of not being ablel to save anything or use a number of applications I have been rebooting. Last night I just went to bed.
I just installed the new iOS on my mini and it's behaving oddly (it keeps half-waking-up to the black screen with the apple), so, yeah, I'd wait on the tablet updates.
My iPad 3 and iPad Mini are both working fine on iOS 7.
that's good to know. I have an ipad 3

Verizon wanted to do that to me yesterday when I was thinking of upgrading instead of just throwing an insurance claim on my phone (cracked screen for over a year but suddenly there were some performance issues so I couldn't keep putting it off) and it annoyed me to the point where I got my replacement phone today. The bullshit upgrade fee really annoyed me.
