I used Food to document Jamaican food, because it has emotional meaning to me. I wouldn't call myself a food journaller. Fuck, the other use was trying to remember which apples taste like what, and which yoghurts I preferred. With the free flow text box I just put in whatever, but mostly I was charmed by the way it presented the photos, because...there are only a couple different angles you can take apple pictures from. But it was all Instagram and shit.
I see Evernote Moleskin journals for sale at my art store, which surprised me. If we were allowed to use Evernote for work, I would use fake functionality like that more (the camera allows you to take multiple pages in one batch now).
I do use Evernote Food, but I mostly use it to take notes assuming I'll be back again (e.g. remember to order the salad with dressing on the side; I didn't like the potatoes, get bread next time).
Yeah--I use it primarily as a memory trigger--do have this again, and you hated that. But at a general level.
And Jamaica is just so I can look at the food and sigh, and also to help me communicate with foreigners.
Looking at the Android Evernote plugins here, and of course! I use
Skitch
all the time. But I use the old version on my Mac, because version 2 was a downgrade in terms of functionality (and much like I'm arguing with Opera on Twitter now, I made sure to tell them I wasn't a happy customer).
Andmade Share
is great--better than the default Android share function. Lets you pick multiple destinations, for a start. And better Evernote integration. And while I used Dolphin I used the add-ons, but I'm Opera now. Actually, if I do have to clip from Android, I go back to Dolphin.
I'm gonna go peek at some of the others, but make sure I start from the mobile device end, because I hit the same form wall that Gris did, and it's annoying if you do that after having expended energy. However, I did find that Evernote has a bit of form functionality itself--I've broken my doctor and ER visit templates into sections, and when I tap on them it opens just that bit in a section at the bottom of the screen. I don't need fancy form stuff. Just that is fine for now.
What is a good inexpensive way to record landline phone calls?
Also, separate question, if the person consents on the recording at the beginning of the recording, that is sufficient legal CYA yes? "As we discussed a moment ago, I will be recording this interview for quotation in _ magazine. Is that still OK?" And if the other person says "Yup" then we are golden.
does it have to be landline?
Yeah , I use a cheap cell plan without many minutes. or I guess it could be on Google voice or something since I have a good broadband connection.
Installed Google voice - only to find out that it only records *incoming* calls.
Also, separate question, if the person consents on the recording at the beginning of the recording, that is sufficient legal CYA yes?
Depends on the state.
And, if memory serves, the states both participants are in. But that bit is memory from long ago J-school.
typo for my research, I record calls on skype. on a mac, I think the program is call recorder.
I am not good with notes/reminders/programs like Evernote for myself. My brain just doesn't work that way. But I'm looking for an app that I can use with the two other people at my officer where I can put tasks on other people's lists and then look to see when they've been done, etc.
Does that exist?
