Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!
There is a "blowing smoke up your ass" joke to be made there.
So, a kid (I won't name name because I'm related and trying not to want to strangle him in the future) doused me and the MacBook Pro with water the other day. Mostly the laptop survived. But a few keys aren't working and so, yay, repair.
Any ballparks on what I am looking at? Am I replacing the whole keyboard? Can they replace the two clumps of keys that don't work? The nearest Genius Bar is not actually near at all so I'd like to walk in with some idea if possible.
I've got a USB keyboard plugged in currently but it's not a long-term solution.
Well that is less than a new laptop. And hopefully my sister picks up the tab. Thanks, le n.
Time to see when I can make an appt.
People, appreciate your t and r keys while you have them. Among others.
have you installed Smart Reporter 3? I think it would be a good idea. It gives you an early warning system for when your motherboard, etc. starts failing. It told me about my motherboard failing before it went kaput.
Just grabbed a trial version to, well, try. Thanks! An early warning would have been nice when the last laptop suddenly lost its motherboard.
Laptop goes in Friday afternoon. Hopefully there is a quick, "This is how much money we want and this is when we will give you your computer back."
Gris, thanks for the link. I just did impulse buy myslef.
Gris, I still cannot get over your bidet purchase. I just don't know.
Try it. It won't exactly change your life, but it will make you favor that toilet over all other toilets.
Thank you Amazon, it was on my doorstep when I got home. Gotta love Amazon Prime!
I downloaded a music video from Youtube for Dylan to put on his iPod, and the damn thing will not sync. Granted, this was not strictly a legal download, but I've done it before without any problems - any ideas?
The "Create iPod version" option is nowhere in sight, but I'm not sure if that's iTunes 11 or if it means this is already compatible. It's a regular H.264 mp4 file, exactly like every other video on this device.
Got it, ARGH. Stupid device.
