I was just able to pull some data off the dead laptop, including my one pivotal missing file, thank fuck.

Sonos is more about flexibility of playback then good sound. If one doesn't really want to be able to stream from anywhere and redirect playback from room to room I'm not sure it's worth the high price.
I like my Yamaha sound bar quite a bit. It came with a sub.
Is it self powered? Or need an amp? Does it have center channel?
I'm pretty sure it's this one: [link]
It's self-powered, and had lots of little speakers that it uses to generate surround sound by bouncing sound off the walls and such.
Our buddy who does want to do all that stuff has Sonos and it's pretty fucking awesome, but he's also very wealthy and can do whatever he damn well pleases.
t whine I wanna be wealthy, and do whatever I damn well please! t /whine
Does anyone else who uses cellular modems notice performance degradation in extremely windy weather? I'm somewhat bemused at the idea of the wind blowing my bytes away, but I am noticing what is at least correlation.
I notice it too, Liese. We obviously have very different weather, but it is not the rain or snow that correlates, just the wind.
Okay, it's not just in my brane then. I'm okay with it, since I don't have any other options, but I'm coming up on the windy season, and I should make plans accordingly knowing it's going to be frustrating.
On a vaguely tech-y note: Anyone know how many computers you can log in to a NYTimes subscription with? My google-fu is failing me. I know Netflix has a limit, but oddly, can't find anything in the FAQ about NYTimes. Or possibly my eyes are skipping right over it or something.
