"All the other colonies, think we're craaazy..."
That is fantastic.

I have no idea what mine craft is but I would totally love the colonial call me maybe!
"Declare This Maybe" by Lila and Elle, 4th graders
We are the 13 colonies/I'm just trying to be free/This isn't English territory/Let's get Independence today
John Adams, Benjamin Franklin/And then there's Thomas Jefferson/I'm sick of English rule/Let's get free today
Red coats, no King George votes/Taxation without Representation/Mass0ac0cre, tea party/Now the Stamp and Tea Acts!
Hey, I want Independence/And this is crazy/But let's get freedom/And declare this maybe
And all the other colonies/They call this crazy/But we need Independence/So declare this mayve
Before we had the declaration/England made me so mad/They made me so mad/England made me so so mad. (repeat X 2)
(They typed it up and circulated it to the class.)
That is awesome. I am sending that to the US history teacher at my school post-haste (they did the Declaration of Independence as "We are never ever getting back together" very recently so this is good timing!)
I'm thinking of getting this tablet to get me through until my laptop is fixed. Thoughts?
I can't help but think a Google Nexus 7 would be worth the extra $50 for the newer software, faster processor, and twice the flash memory.
If you want a "get me through" tablet, there are cheaper ones. If you want a "proper" tablet, like Gud says, there are more expensive ones. That one for that money isn't bad, but is it really something you won't use afterwards? You could get away with less storage, 1 camera, older OS and spend less money.
Gud, that makes sense, but if I add that price onto the price of a service agreement, it starts to push just past the point I am comfortable spending right now.
ita ! I would probably use it mostly as a reading tablet for cookbooks, magazines, or anything with pictures that I would rather look at on a color screen once I have my computer back. The rest of my downloaded books I'll still read on my e-ink kindle. ETA: And I would really prefer to buy from Staples.
In theory I could continue to use TCG's laptop for the next month or so because he doesn't bring it to work, but I'm not sure I'm comfortable with that and it is too large and heavy for me to comfortably use it outside the house.
I strongly recommend going the extra $50 for the Nexus 7 if you want to read on it. The 1280x800 screen on the Nexus will be much easier on the eyes than the 1024x768 of the Lenvo.
Nexus 7 also comes with JB 4.2 which has some real UI improvements for 7" tablets.
Finally, the Nexus is 2.5 oz lighter.
Maybe I'll go with the nexus and not get the service agreement. If I can replace it for the same price as the agreement what is the point?
