What is even happening?

Thanks, Jess. A friend linked those to me in my LJ. They are not at all cheap, and really, this is a one time thing. I just want the first 8 episodes of Supernatural, season 2, because I forgot to TiVo the re-runs until episode 9 was on. I much prefer buying DVDs to buying episodes online, because then you have something tangible, and there are usually extras.

Beau and I saw "Casino Royale" and we couldn't believe how sucky the quality was.

That's disappointing. I wonder what's up with the films?

Now tagless for your comfort.

Can anyone link me to directions or give me directions on sharing our itunes purchases between our two computers and different users?

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

You will have to authorize the second iTunes to whomever the purchaser was. Unfortunately, I think this will de-authorize iTunes for the original user was. Unless you have have two people authorized to an iTunes program at one time--I'm unsure how that works, never having needed to before.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

You can have up to five computers registered to use one iTunes account, and each computer can be authorized for more than one account. The first time you play a song bought on another computer, it will say the new computer needs to be authorized, and give you an option to do that. In terms of transferring the songs, I generally just email them, or use a thumb drive if there's a lot.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

How do I set up my Mac to default to using Bean as the application to open all .Doc files? I've tried looking in Help, but all the keywords I can think of lead to dead ends, like setting up Mail as my mail default.

I installed Nisus Writer Express a couple weeks ago as an experiment, and it changed something so that all my .Doc files open in Nisus, so I know it can be set. I'd know how to change it in Windows, for sure. And I'm sure it can be done under OSX, but damn if I can figure out where to do it....

All is well that ends in pizza.

Do a "get info" (command-i) on a .doc file, change the "open with" to Bean, and then click the "Change all" button. At least in Tiger.

Thanks, Daniel!!! That is exactly what I needed!

I have to say, I'm liking Bean a whole lot -- it's damn fast and gives me exactly the minimal functions I really want.

Punishingly Intricate

this may be a stupid question but I can't find an answer anywhere! I'm using Word2003 and some of the hyperlinks I've created are not working. They are pointing to the correct location (to headers within the document) but when clicked the cursor goes to the top of the document instead of the target.

I've tried removing the problematic hyperlinks completely and relinking them and that doesn't work.

And some of the hyperlinks in the doc do work. so irritating!!!

any ideas?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Because you all suck and gave me no feedback I went ahead and bought the snazzy headset. Now I just need someone to talk to...

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Now I just need someone to talk to...

Good luck with that now that you've told us that we all suck...
