What are you trying to connect?
I'm trying to connect the mini (late 2009-model A12843-emc 2336 to this monitor Dell monitor.
This apple adapter accepts 24 pins but the monitor dvi plug only uses 18 of them, in the same configuration. Does that mean they are not compatible?
Ack. Never mind.
I spent ages on the phone with the Apple store and their conclusion was exactly what I hoped not to hear...go to a brick and mortar store.
It's not a huge hardship, but without a care, it's a trek.
My TiVo is dying. Last night it was fine, tonight when I went to turn it on, all I got was a grey screen. And when you Google "Tivo g" it fills in "rey screen of death" which is never a good sign.
I was able to bring it briefly back to life by taking the Cablecard in and out and then unplugging the whole thing for a minute. It played about 15 minutes of Copper and then crapped out again.
I don't really have a question, I'm just sad I can't watch TV.
Oh, sorry hon! My tivo lost its HDMI slot, and I was pissed about that.
Bonny, that adapter has worked with every monitor I've ever tried. I think you're safe to buy it without a trip to the store.
The extra pins in the middle are for dual link DVI, which you need for 30" monitors. I suspect the adapter accepts those pins in case you're using a dual link DVI cable for a single link DVI monitor.
more fun with Time Warner.

The cable box magically resets around once a week.Maybe they do that, in the hopes of reseting your feelings towards TW.
