Amazon announces new wave of Kindles:
The Kindle Paperwhite will feature 62 percent more pixels than the Kindle Touch, Bezos said. It will have a touchscreen and be lit with a fiber-optic lighting system that has been in development for four years, he said.
Right after I get a new Kindle Touch and buy a lighted case, dammit!
A new feature called Time to Read will estimate, based on the reader's speed turning previous pages, how long it will take to finish the current chapter or the entire book.
ZOMG THIS IS THE GREATEST FEATURE. One of the things I don't like about e-readers is how it's difficult to tell how much you have left in a chapter.
The more traditional, non-touchscreen Kindle will remain available, with its price dropping to $69 for the ad-supported version.
Well, I will still be happy with my oldfangled Kindle. FOR NOW.

Because...I don't know, I just want to know. No big reason.
Boony I'd try it without the lights first and see how you like the result.
Because I need to know how much longer it is until I have a good stopping point. If I only have a few pages, I can keep going; if this chapter is really long, then I might as well stop mid-chapter if I need to. Or I might need to adjust my reading speed so that I end the chapter by the time I reach my destination.
And...why?
Usually for 'do I finish this chapter before I go to sleep or just stop reading right now' purposes.

Yeah, I probably should wait. I'm just so anxious to get this project off the ground! And, I'd rather do it as professionally as possible...or not at all. (I'm continually stunned by the poor quality of most vlogs.)

I _always_ dodge ahead to see how far it is to the end of the chapter. The completeist in me never just stops at the end of a page. I can't even stop in the middle of a chapter in an audiobook!
It's boon to me that my ipod tells me how much longer the chapter will take. I can see why having a Kindle do the same would be desirable.

I hate when I stop an audiobook and then when I start it again I discover I was, like, fifteen seconds from the end of a chapter. Dammit!
So you just flip forward until the next chapter...I mean, I guess I figured that was the scenario, but it's also worst case since...I just stop reading when I don't want to read any more. Your way sounds like work.
