Woe to the fucking wicked.

Sophia, I can't think of anything that would get Blackboard to act like it was submitted by the student. I sometimes had students submit things via email (the equivalent of what you'd be doing) and it was tedious to make sure I didn't miss anyone's anything.

I suppose they could submit a blank "see email" assignment, so that it showed up as "needs to be graded"

That is actually a great idea! Then I can attach it to that in the notes sectyion for the instructor to see. We are using BB to keep records rather than me keeping a paper file on each student (because this is a class that certifies a nurse to assist in surgery, we have to have records of their clinical hours)

Some of the students do not have scanners, so they are sending me hard copies.

Not sure if this is a helpful option for them or not but I just got a scanning app on my phone and it's pretty nifty. I was surprised at how well the scans came out.

What's the scanning app called, Kristen?

I have photoToPDF for iphone and iPad. Trick is getting good lighting and not being a shadow on the document.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I have about 3 scanning apps on my iphone and I'm not happy with any of them. And yet,California accepted it for my birth certificate request. So perhaps my standards are so high no one can meet them?

It's called Turbo Scan. (I tried another one -- whose name I can't remember -- but the quality was no better than just snapping a photo.). They have this thing called SureScan. It takes three photos of your document and the text, even tiny text, is really clear.

Mom says the government is turning off the servers that run the Internet. It was on local news, so it must be true. This is all I could find quickly on the iPhone. [link]

Check your DNS settings. I think you will be ok otherwise.
