Hey. New board.

Supposedly the ARM ones will be competitive with the iPad, while the Intel ones will be competitive with ultrabooks. I'm guessing 999 for the 64 GB Intel including choice of keyboard. No guesses on the ARM ones.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Where is display technology going other than Retina? I'm assuming that Apple has that locked down nice and tight, but what else can other tablet, laptop, and monitor manufacturers do as the next quantum leap? What's in the pipeline, and from who?

Failing that, is there something looming that will distract from the Retina Display? The whole bundle of the MS tablet?

Hey. New board.

The high contrast of Super Amoled Plus is just as impressive as the high Res in my mind, though way less effectively marketed. But nothing will really beat Retina on the display front any time soon - eventually competitors should be able to use high Res displays themselves, but until then I think Apple has a clear advantage on that front

Hey. New board.

I don't remember who ran into the problem sending Mobi files to a kindle earlier, but I just sent two mobi files (InCryptid short stories!) to my kindle e-mail address and they went to my kindle just fine. I guess they added Mobi back as a supported option, at least for e-Ink kindles!

Coding and Sleeping

I think Apple pretty much has the supply chain tapped out for high res displays, but eventually there will be more supply and other companies will bring out high res screens.

Motorola applied for a patent to make the screen an acoustic surface to produce better sound and give sensory feedback when touching the screen. I don't anything about when or if that'll end up in a product.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

I just forked out the $$ to upgrade my Verizon HTC Incredible to Samsung Galaxy S3. Shipping on 7/10! Does anyone have this phone already? The reviews were pretty awesome and I figure I'd go for this one rather than iPhone 4.

My only reservation is that its size -- at 4.8 inch, it's pretty big and I have wee hands. I played with a 4.7 inch HTC Evo in Radio Shack for a bit and it seemed manageable. And I'll be mostly using it for texting, internet surfing and maybe watching videos rather than as a phone anyway.

Hey. New board.

I heart my giant screen phone. But I have huge hands and actually crave a galaxy note, so I'm probably not a good use case example for you. The S3 looks sweet, and is popular enough that it will be infinitely hackable for a long time: again, probably not something you care about but it would make me happy.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I am still laughing about the sumo wrestlers who had to get ipads to use as phones because that size was what worked for them.

is it possible to follow a topic on twitter (not a person) and not get any retweets?

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

So aggravated. I have an HTC Amaze. Just got a warranty replacement for it today. How the hell do I transfer everything over? Settings, data, pictures... or do I have to start from scratch?

Restoring an iPhone is so much easier.
