I hope this is a joke:
CES 2012: Behringer unveils 8-foot wide, 10,000-watt iPod dock
We've checked the specs and we've checked the date, but it seems German audio company Behringer really has announced an 8-foot wide, 10,000-watt iPod/iPhone dock. Yes, that's an iPhone on top of the dock.
The iNuke Boom weighs over 315kg, stands 4-feet tall and will set you back a not inconsiderable $30,000. And looks utterly crazy.
Sounds to me more like a dare. Whoever designed it gets $5 from the guy who said "You'll never get anyone to buy that."
Unfortunately, audiophiles have their own version of Poe's Law. It's impossible to distinguish parody from the real thing.
Has anyone used tracfone for their cell service? Neither my wife nor I rack up many minutes (she averages about 120, I average about 50) on our cell phones and I'm usually near a wireless network so I don't have much need for data. It looks like we could save a significant amount of money going with a prepaid service even with our current super secret unavailable low-cost Verizon plan.
Gud, I use Net10, which works fine, and my husband just got a Virgin Android that's no contract -- it has the 3G and Wifi and all that.
They've been fine for us, and you really can control what you spend. My phone doesn't do the web really at all (which I would like to change eventually), but for texting and calling, it's cheap. I can get 300 minutes for $30 and make it last two months or more.
If you don't mind a little initial disruption, I can't recommend Google Voice enough to minimise texting and calling costs. I haven't streamlined it *perfectly* for my purposes, but that's because I want my phone to read my texts out and shit. But I've dropped huge amounts off my monthly bills as a result, both landline and mobile.
I use tracphone I also have paid skype at 35 per year, because I got a groupon that let me do the setup to use skype over a landline rather than only on a computer included in the 35. After that expires it does look like google voice is better.

I've got Tracfone, and it works fine for me. I've never come close to using all the minutes, and I got a plan that is Double Minutes for Life. The phone cost me 20 bucks and it does everything I need it to.
I've got a tracfone too. Works fine, but thinking about Virgin Mobile because of better phones/internet access. I also use skype as my landline. Will have to check out google voice.
