Ok, let me tinker with one, and report back.

Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!
YESSSS!!!! Now, hopefully, the title will let me add more than a line to two.
Uh, anyone wanna help me look for scandals for senators? Email is good. [link]

My geek cred just rolled for +10!
iTunes question - there's a daily podcast I listen to. A couple of weeks ago, I synced without downloading it and then shut down my computer, so I just downloaded it directly to my phone instead. Now that episode won't go away even though I have iTunes set up to remove podcasts once they've been listened to.
Any way to manually remove this one episode? It doesn't show up in iTunes at all, and I can't see an obvious "delete" button anywhere on my iPhone.
You can delete it using the swipe-right gesture.
Can you just remove it, unsubscribe, then resubscribe to the feed?
FWIW, I like instacast for my iphone and ipad (not universal unfortunately). After instacast, I don't even use itunes anymore for podcasts.
You can delete it using the swipe-right gesture.
AHA! Thank you, that worked perfectly.
Okay, I have a panicky Cyber Monday question. Which brands are decent?
- Lenovo
- ASUS
- HP
- Not getting Dell, never mind
- Toshiba
- Sony
- Acer
Just trying to winnow down a list before I start deep diving for my sister's replacement laptop *today*. Good god, the pressure.
Myself, I'm a Toshiba fan.
Work laptops are Lenovo, and seem to be holding up well. My major gripe with Lenovo is that the Ctrl and Fn keys are switched.
I've liked the Asus products we have a lot (one laptop, one netbook), and our old Lenovo laptops were total workhouses that lasted way longer than I expected.
