iOS will give you as many screens as you need.
Well, it will give you a bunch of screens, but there is a limit. I have, in fact, filled up all the screens so that new apps have nowhere to go (nowhere to go that I can scroll to, that is) until I put some in folders.. Yes, I am embarrassed.
-t, you cook from the phone?
I do! I put the CI app on the iPad, stretched, but it's still portrait mode only and somehow reading the recipes off of the phone seems just as easy, maybe because it is easier to perch the phone various places in the kitchen. The integrated timers are pretty nice.
You can also arrange your apps in iTunes, which is usually easier than moving them around with your finger on the screen.
But if I arrange my apps at home in iTunes, what would I do during my commute?
Your data in your apps is backed up to iTunes
Can you have data that's not in apps?
what's the PDF reader that everyone loves?
I am a firm believer in my Nook.
I hope so. I just sunk beaucoup bucks into a new android handset. I finally tossed the BlackBerry. Just couldn't deal anymore.
Man, a way too gleeful co-worker just announced that the G2 won't be getting Ice Cream Sandwich. I had been monitoring announcement lists, but I hadn't seen that.
I don't want a new phone!
I want Ice Cream Sandwich!
I'm so wounded.
Vortex,
do you have an ipad?
I use 2 apps to manipulate PDFs. I like ibooks for reading PDFs, but goodreader works well. I like IAnnotate for marking up PDFs.
le nubian, do you find that you have problems getting onto websites with your iPad? That's my only sticking point about maybe getting one of those after Christmas.
Kathy, I love my iPad. I've had no trouble loading websites at all. Even the Flash issue won't be around for much longer, since Adobe is no longer developing it for mobile devices.
Why do you feel that it's an issue?
