Hey. New board.

Just about any library program for a phone could probably let you export a list that could easily be imported into LibraryThing. I don't have any specific suggestions, but I'd bet there are dozens.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Gris, I use Locale to do that sort of stuff. It's pretty cool. It can be set to react to, out of the box, location, orientation, time, and person calling. And that can be used to fire off a lot of things, like configuration settings (ringer, bluetooth, screen brightness, etc) or to do list alerts, or web site logins with plugins. I posted about it upthread some.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I have one of these and during my internet downtime for almost a day, that was the way I could transfer files from computer, iphone, and my wifi-only ipad.

Okay, I want *that*

I have a Fujitsu scanner that changed my mind on scanners and I am in love with it.

I'm in content management and imaging and have been for 20 years. So I'm familiar with the scanning and paperless technology out there. And I still prefer starting with a digital document nine times out of ten. I just don't see the pros of going in the other direction. It's a workaround, but electronic documents with electronic signatures is how I design paperless offices.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Thanks for the Flickr troubleshooting, guys. Still no idea what the issue was!

I now have an Android phone and I want to scan book barcodes to get the ISBN number and information, both to finally catalog my library and to sell some books. I want to be able to have import the book information to some kind of catalog on my PC. There is a scanning app that uploads to Good Reads. Is anyone else that crazy? If so, any suggestions?

I am that dorky, but I did it a few years ago and bought the cue cat from LibraryThing. But I haven't kept it up, especially now that a bunch of my library is digital.

Anyone have any idea how Siri decided I'm my sister Kara? Is it because there's no meara in my phone and that's the closest name? I mean wtf??

All is well that ends in pizza.

Apparently you do need your own name in the contacts

Trust my rage

Sorry, I came across as sort of "let me tell you about this amazing thing called a scanner" and that wasn't how I meant to sound. That scanner has saved me so many times that's it's hard for me not to be over the top about it.

Can I give you the number of my HR department? Who, despite years of green initiatives, still refuse to accept a digital signature on a timesheet?

Every week, I print out my timesheet, sign it, scan it, and email the PDF to HR. It is BEYOND STUPID AND I HATES IT PRECIOUS.
