Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Grocery IQ, tiggy. There's also a tablet version, which I just downloaded. I hadn't realised.

Red Laser is a good one for the iphone. I thought they also had an android version.

Red Laser doesn't seem to be the same thing. Grocery IQ is a (pretty rich) shopping list app, which also lets you add stuff via barcode scanning. RedLaser seems to be much more product oriented.

What I'd really like is a Grocery IQ Locale plug in, so I could tell it which stores have what, and where. So it could bring up a Ralph's shopping list automatically whenever I went into my usual ones. And TJ's etc. Although the location isn't good enough to tell one store from the one nextdoor so far.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Hmm. I tried to use Grocery IQ years ago and I just couldn't do it. I'd rather just put out a list and go shopping.

Well, you don't have to scan. Without the barcoding it's not more onerous than any other list app I've ever used (and with it, barely even). What about it was so bad?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

because I think the app was not organized the way I think, if that makes any sense. I'm finding that is true with a lot of apps that I buy and then cannot use.

I still haven't found my task list app for that reason. But I'm much more particular about everyday things like to dos than grocery lists.

Trust my rage

I know we have had this no-cable discussion a million times in this thread, but I just cancelled my cable last week. I had planned on keeping my Tivo since I had an HD antenna for my TV. But the antenna doesn't work and I know myself well enough to doubt that I will make it to the store anytime soon.

I have an Apple TV (the original gray one) but I recently discovered that the new AppleTV (black) has streaming Netflix on it, while mine doesn't. I'm planning on buying the little black one soon. I have also downloaded the free ABC, CBS, and NBC apps for my iPad but only the ABC one seems to work bug free most of the time.

eta: I meant to add that the streaming only plan for Netflix is the best investment ever for this house. I rarely watch it, but my kids both use it almost every day and it has a huge selection of kid-appropriate stuff. But not so much current stuff, right?

My last thought is that while I really don't mind paying to download shows via iTunes, I only rewatch my true favorites, like SPN. I'm really not interested in clogging my HD with Grey's Anatomy or Survivor.

So I'm pondering a Hulu Plus subscription and cancelling my Tivo since I don't have an antenna. But I'm curious what have been other people's "perfect" solutions.
