Yeah, I'm at a complete loss. I'm so non-intuitive when it comes to this stuff. I've downloaded Handbrake- I'm flailing a bit, trying to figure out what next.
::headdesk::
ETA Nebber mind. I somehow figured it out.
okay, I'm here to help if you need it.
My mom is apparently looking for one with all the bells and whistles on it--she actually thought that tablets also did phone stuff
The Motorola Xoom 2 will be out soon, and it's supposed to be upgradeable to Android 4 (Ice Cream Sandwich) at some point. I've seen one in person and they look pretty nice.
Disclaimer: I work for Motorola, though not in that part of the business. It does look really nice though, honestly.
I can use my tablet as a phone on Wifi with a Google voice phone number. It's kind of creepy, and I don't do it much, because lots of other phone shaped things ring at the same time too.
Edit--wait, what does ICS mean about phone functions? I thought it was a blended OS for both tablets and phones, not that it would make tablets phones.
apparently, adobe will stop development of mobile flash. I don't know what this means for tablets and phones, but sounds like flash is on its way out on mobile devices in general.
le nubian, what does this mean for watching vids, etc. on mobile devices (if you know?) I saw mention of this earlier on Twitter, and am curious.
I am curious too! I don't know what the implications of this are. I am waiting for a tech column to cover this in depth. When I find one, I'll link it here.
Sounds to me like most of the video on the internet that will be geared toward mobile devices will be converted to html5 - which is what youtube did years ago.
