when i die, please bake my ashes into a brick and use me to hit fascists.

And I was already pissed at Charter deciding for me that I wanted to use its search engine and not the one I chose myself. (Which can be disabled, but is a hassle.)

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I asked this in G+, so forgive the x-post, but...we're thinking strongly about ditching cable for something else.

SA recced Boxee; any thoughts?

We watch mainly Leverage, Burn Notice, SPN, White Collar, GoThrones, Miracle Day and Adult Swim. We like Hell's Kitchen, too.

We really want to slash out the cable $$, but will b keeping high-speed internet through Time-Warner.

Thoughts? Rec? Pros/cons, prices? We have and will be keeping Netflix Instant.

Trust my rage

I have netflix and use iTunes a lot. As soon as True Blood is over this season, I'm ditching cable. This particular month, I've bought a lot from iTunes, but normally I don't watch enough TV to equal what I pay to cable. I did get an HD antenna and I'll hook it up once I cancel the cable.

Yeah, I've been keeping cable for the new Torchwood. Unfortunately, the new Torchwood is not exciting.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I stumbled upon the news that the skin (Touchwiz) that ships with the Galaxy Tab has been updated since the units were shipped, so I upgraded mine last night.

I am more in love now than I was before. It's brighter than the standard skin (including the skin that shipped with my G2) and it has a bunch more widgets and a couple new app updates.

Off to explore more...

And I also think I might have found a Google Voice hack for the Tab, as well as an app to use it as a GV phone.

Something kinda related--when I hook up my iPod to my PC, it mounts as a volume I can browse. But not on the Mac. I haven't yet hooked up the Tab to my PC, but it doesn't mount as a volume to OS X either. Is there a workaround for the iPod mounting in OS X that I'm not aware of?

Gris--I have been playing around with Firefox on Android, and it keeps its window selection off to the left of the main pane, not using tabs at the top. Does that satisfy your issue?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

My iPods mount in OS X. I have them set up with "manually manage music" and "enable disk use" checked in iTunes, I don't remember doing anything else to make them browsable.

One needs [link] to transfer files to the Tab on the Mac.

I don't have this iPod synching with the Mac. Could that be it?

Thanks, Rob!

Now back to the mystery of no video calls with Skype. Tab forums say it's not possible, but the market page says Galaxy Tab should be a go. What I can't work out is if they mean all Tabs (sizes and WiFi) or not.

Hm, well, I am suddenly having a problem with iTunes not opening and the iPod is not mounting without iTunes, so maybe?
