We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I just think that when the networks -- particularly the broadcast networks -- make it harder for viewers to see programs, piracy is going to keep going up.

Yeah, that's what the tech writer at Slate has been arguing. Make it easy to get the stuff legally, and people won't cheat. Make it clunky or difficult, and they will.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

my sentence wasn't a criticism, it was an enhancement of your previous point. they love to go after torrent sites, but the whole issue is much broader than that.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

OMG, I keep forgetting my phone can be a hotspot and T-Mobile has unlimited internet. They don't cap, but they do throttle. Still, it's better than nothing, when you're in the middle of wherever.

I've been looking for accessories for the 10.1' tablet, and things are pretty thin on the ground. I found a decent book-style cover, but it doesn't even have a loop for a stylus.

Stil enjoying myself. That cable that guy had to pay $70 for? I ordered for $5 from NewEgg.

I'd love to find an application that uses the screen as rotating gallery of photographs.

Interesting thing about QuickOffice--I don't know if it does it on all the other platforms, but it lets me open and save from the cloud pretty easily -- dropbox is just as easy to get to as Google Docs as a number of other options I didn't take. It's a very liberating futuristic feeling.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

New computer came with Chrome, which I like well enough, but I'm missing some of my Firefox extensions. However, nothing I've heard about the new FF versions makes me that happy about upgrading. Do I have any other useful browser options?

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

The older versions of Firefox are still available. There is a Windows version of Safari. And there is Opera.

I don't know anything about Safari and Opera. Are there extensions? I love extensions.

Hey. New board.

Why do people hate the new Firefox? I just switched back from Chrome for a trial and am liking it quite a bit.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

My only complaint about Firefox is that it is slow to launch initially.

Quick check on this system:

Chrome12: 8 seconds
Safari5: 8 seconds
IE9: 11 seconds
FF5: 16 seconds

YMMV
