I would be there right now.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

70% Display? Is weird. Does the sleep mode work?

Sleep mode? You mean, does it turn off the display after a minute or so? Yeah, it does, and I have to press a button to turn it back on (and then swipe the screen to unlock the phone).

Ah...there.

It should be visible now, Ginger.

Thank you!

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

OK our old CRT tv has finally crapped out. It was a 19 inch and that is about as large as will fit in that space. Maybe we could fit up to a 22 inch.

OK now as far as I can see most of the cheapie LCDs are widescreen. Won't that elongated design mean that either the bottom of the standard signal gets cut off, or that we end up with blank screen to the right and left of the image? Do I need a maximum aspect ratio? Most of the cheapies have an aspect ratio of 16:1.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

I'm already doing most of the things that are supposed to conserve battery life.

You should be able to turn off 4G as well, to conserve power.

So this universal charger should work with my Samsung Exhibit, right? Because it's a new phone, most websites haven't updated their compatibility lists, but the charger T-Mobile sells on their website (for thirty damn bucks) is also just a universal micro USB charger. Hell, I wonder if the charger for my RAZR would do the job. What would be the difference between a universal charger and a Samsung universal charger? (I would like to get that one anyway because it has a longer cord; the charger they gave me with the phone isn't long enough to properly reach my nightstand.) Clearly, I need to get a bunch of chargers so I can charge this damn thing when I need to.

Also, once you stick a screen protector on, can you safely remove it? Someone from IT was recommending invisibleSHIELD, which seems pretty cool, but, again, since my phone is new, they don't have a fit for it, but I thought I should get a cheap screen protector on as soon as I could.

At least this Accessory Geeks site is on the ball; they already have a case for me! I guess I can get a ten-dollar case while I wait for the cool designer cases to fit my phone.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

With very few exceptions, widescreen TVs are 16:9. There isn't much these days that's broadcast at 4:3, but a widescreen TV will either display standard def content pillarboxed (black bars on the sides) or stretch it to fit. Nothing will get cut off unless there's something seriously hinky about the signal.

OK so it looks like a $139 Scepre TV ordered though Target.com is the cheapest I can find at the moment. No one complained about bad sound quality or it dying after three weeks as they did with many of the others.

Probably.

just a universal micro USB charger.

I think this is the key. What I have for traveling with my Droid is a wall charger with a USB-A socket, a car charger with a USB-A socket, and a cable with a USB-A plug on one end and a USB-micro-B plug on the other. I swap the charger on the cable as needed, and I can also use the same cable to connect the Droid to my laptop for file transfers.

once you stick a screen protector on, can you safely remove it?

Yes. It's just a cling film, like a window decal.
