eep! I'm about to buy my first one!
I actually own 15 domains, only one of which sees regular traffic.
Is that (if you don't mind my asking) like $1500 a year?
Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!

I'd guess more like 150 to 300 per year.
Oh wow, it's way cheaper than I thought.
Yeah, getting the domain isn't that expensive, it's the hosting that costs. Having the .net, .biz, etc. just makes sure that other businesses aren't confused with yours.
Yeah, there are always sales on. And since the majority of them aren't hosted, just forwarded, there's no ongoing monthly expense, just the annual domain registrar fees.
Okay, I checked. It's 12 (I gave up one set), for which I pay $120/year. Then I have a couple of hushmail accounts strung off of one of those, for $48/year or so. And two active hosting accounts, both of which are donated for the non-profit, but which used to be about $9 a month.
So total over the course of the year it was around $276.
Wow, Liese. I'm all freaking over one!
I think I have four domain names hosting some content or another. Only one of which goes towards profit. I used to squat like nobody's business--every time a phrase sounded cool, I'd register it. If I'd been savvier, maybe I could have made money off it. But thevelvetedge.com is the only one anyone's tried to buy off me, and it's not going anywhere.
I've rented The Doctor Who episode but I can't see anything. The iTunes player says it;s playing but I have a blank screen and no sound. What am I doing wrong?
I keep being asked to "authorize" the computer, but then I get a message saying it is already authorized.
can you play other video in itunes?
quester, have you upgraded your iTunes version since the last time you bought/rented any video? Steph L. "Buffistechnology 3: "Press Some Buttons, See What Happens."" Apr 17, 2011 1:57:44 pm PDT
t edit It's a known issue that happens after upgrading -- the post I linked you to has a link to an Apple discussion about it, and suggestion for contacting Apple.
