It just goes to saying it's not really that good to base buying decisions on the rumor mill. Leading up to the iPad 2 the rumor mill was ablaze and insistent that it would have some type of retina display and more than 64 GB of storage, neither of which came to pass.

Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!
tiggy,
ND is right. The rumors aren't particularly accurate. However, I thought I saw some manufacturing diagrams from overseas that looked legit to me. If I find the link, I'll post.
What I would expect is the iphone 5 will be thinner, better camera, faster processor. I would probably bet folding $$ on those 3 things occurring. If you are thinking seriously of moving to Verizon, I do think waiting is probably better. I think the new phone will be a significantly better phone for Verizon and may use the new high speed Verizon network.
hmmm...that actually helps me stave off the OMGWANTNOW cravings. so, thanks, le nub!
I'm trying out Chrome again - hot DAMN it's fast.
Anyone know how I can get it to open new tabs from the omnibar by default?
My iPhone should arrive today. I want it NOW!
I just installed Ubuntu on my wee Asus Eee PC. It's so pretty and fast! And I used the terminal to install a chat client, so I feel all power-user-ish. That won't last, but it's a nice feeling for the moment.
Jessica,
if you find out, let me know.
I LOVE Chrome. Poor Firefox. I kicked it to the curb.
Chrome and Firefox 4 have become somewhat interchangeable for me. I like the higher level of control Firefox gives you over the browser, but I really like the way you can use URLs and Searches in the same place instead of two different places. Not that the Firefox way is some huge burden though.
IE 9 is a huge improvement, but setting it up with useful extensions seems like such a PITA compared to the other browsers.
I suspect once Firefox 4 is released that'll be my go-to browser. Chrome is still great, though.
I switched to Chrome on my netbook because the little processor in there was really burdened by Firefox and my love of multiple tabs. It's amazing the difference in speed, but I do miss some of the functionality of Firefox.
This laptop came with chrome as its default browser instead of ie. So I used it like I do ie, to download firefox. But I'm cranky at the new tabs in this version of firefox, because when I click a link to open a new tab, it opens in a tab right next to my current one, instead of at the end. I prefer it at the end, because I like to go through the tabs chronologically, left to right. I'm not really looking at the titles. But now I have to, and I don't remember which ones I clicked when, and I can't see where to change it and it's annoying.
