This is so nice. Having everyone together for my birthday. Of course, you could smash in all my toes with a hammer and it will still be the bestest Buffy Birthday Bash in a big long while.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I want a new laptop. Shame mine survived the spill so well.

Actually, it's a good thing it did, or I'd already have a new laptop and be really pissed at that. As things stand, I'm merely envious, but realise that in a few years it will be better and brighter and ready for me to buy.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Ooooh. It might be time for me to retire the 6-year-old iBook...

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I just bought a refurb Mac Mini and a mini wireless keyboard. By this time next week I'll be able to watch Top Chef on my television and use my laptop at the same time. Woo hoo!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Hmmm. My 17" MacBook Pro is less than two years old. And a few weeks ago I bought an 11" MacBook Air, which I totally love, as I can carry it about in its shoulder bag and not even feel the weight. Only 2 1/2 pounds!

So no new MacBook Pro for me for a while.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Bought my MBP in late 2008. No compelling reason for me to upgrade yet.

Oh! I bought a Pioneer BDP-330. Which has youtube access. Which is nice. Except I can't work out how to enter anything other than numbers with the remote, which makes it useless for anything other than browsing. I can't find any explanation on the web for how to do more.

Anyone know?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Cool!

I now have about a half-hour train ride each way to work, so I've been using mine to write fiction while on the train. (I may buy one of those mobile hotspot thingies so I can has internets on choo-choo as well.)

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

you must have a mind like a steel trap. If I don't have 2-3 hours to write, I cannot write anything.

Heh. Writing on the train does make the time fly. Often I'm like, "Wait, we're already here? Shit." One of these days I'm gonna miss my stop.
