ita,
I have intermittent problems with pytivox here and there. Here's is what I have done:
a) reduce the number of files in the folder
some times this works really well.
b) restart the computer
this is probably the most effective "fix"
c) quit other software programs that stream media
don't know if this fixes my problem or not
Well, there are only two files in the folder, so that's not it. It may take a restart. And I have nothing else on that's streaming.
Thanks for the suggestions.
FYI: MacMall is running a special today on a 1 TB external hard drive for $50: [link]
I hate the redesign. It is horrible on my netbook! SO much of the page is taken up by things that are not the story or the comments I want to read. I think I may be giving up Jezebel!
I agree. what a fucking nightmare. they ruined lifehacker too.
IO9 has lost a few posters for at least a while because of it.
I like the Lifehacker changes, though I wish I could resize the Headlines bar on the right. Otherwise, I think it's pretty. Of course, I read most of Lifehacker through the RSS feed, so I don't have much invested in it.
My big beefs are:
- It's an application now, not a web page. Keys do weird things like move between articles.
- Reduced functionality. You can't heart people anymore, or promote a comment without replying to it, for instance. It no longer displays reply notifications. You can't upload pictures from your hard drive.
- Harder to notice new articles. If they don't highlight it, it's smushed on the right and really easy to overlook. The order they appear in seems to vary from page to page too.
- BUGS. You can't view more than 1 or 2 replies on new comments in the forums. The right pane doesn't work in the forums. Clicking through to some articles via some paths doesn't show comments.
It's one of the worst rollouts I've ever seen.
