It's not a cover issue. It's my chargers/docks are older and charge via FireWire. New iPhone only charges via USB.

omnis,
do you need to charge ONLY or do you need to broadcast audio through the car?
If you need to charge ONLY, I bought a cigarette lighter/USB charger from Target for $13 and I attach a usb cord to the charger and charge my phone just fine.
Yeah, Apple changed the standard a few years ago from 12V to 5V if I remember correctly and it means that lots of older accessories don't charge new phones. Scosche makes an adapter than will allow the old accessories to power the new iDevices, but it would probably be too big to use with a cradle. I use one in the BMW since it has the old 12V style power on it's iPod input and I have a newer iPod nano in there.
I'm also trying to evaluate which, if any, upgrades I want to make. I found this site, which is very useful to me; it lets you know the current digital line-up for your area (using a cable provider or digital antenna).
For those watching at home, and curious what I decided, I found this: [link]
It is 1/3 the price of the Tom Tom guy. Although I think the Tom Tom is slicker with it's pivot dock connection. We shall see how it is. But thought I'd update in case you were curious.
Hulu Plus is active on my Roku now. Don't know about other devices.
I am stuck doing familial tech support. Has anyone ever installed a wireless router on ATT DSL service? I have read many complaints about how difficult it is, all with conflicting solutions. No matter what I do, I end up with a wireless signal that is not connecting to the internet.
So I got access to a couple of files that should be rar archives, but when I run UnRarX on them, it claims they're not. I'm sort of at a loss. I mean, they say they're RAR archives, and yet it's not happening.
Any ideas? I'm on a Macbook.
I'm sure that we've discussed this before, but what is the hivemind stance on Vizio flatscreens? My TV is making wierd noises, and taking almost 10 seconds to turn on. Also, it will sometimes sloooooowly get a picture, then turn itself off again. I'm thinking now is a good time for a new TV, with the sales and all.
The Vizio sets do okay in ratings on picture quality but they aren't the best for longevity. As I have said in the past, I'm a big fan of Samsung for LCD panels.
