Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

Jessica, I don't have an HDTV but I've always had luck with Radio Shack antennas. Also, RCA makes a pretty good one.

I have not restarted in the last month or so. I shall give that a try tonight.

And no, my Series 1 is so old there is no wireless ability.

Knowing that Tivos are on sale is... tempting. Esp. since my parents just gave me a check for my birthday.

Suela, right before I moved is when I got a new TiVo. Mostly for the new tv I also got-- flatscreen is way easier to move! And if I had an HDTV, I wanted hd TiVo too...

If it's a problem with the modem, this modem replacement might help. The same folks also have a flat-rate $149 Tivo repair plan.

If it's a problem with the modem

Yeah, that's the question. And it sort of forces the issue: spend the $70 on the assumption it's the modem, or just grit my teeth for a couple months and program it by hand, or take the leap to a new one entirely.

One reason I'm reluctant to get a new Tivo is this one has a lifetime subscription on it, so I don't really want another monthly fee...

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

So my bosses let our antivirus subscription expire. Now one of my bosses has spent about 4 hours so far trying to get rid of a virus. Who knows how much longer it will take. The loss of billable hours will be many times the cost of the antivirus subscription.

But I don't understand the point of a virus that renders your computer unusable....

Suela,

check TiVo and see if they have a deal to move the lifetime to a new unit.

Stupid Excel question. I can't see columns A-E in a spreadsheet, how do I unhide them?

ETA: Nevermind. Someone froze the panes. I hate sharing spreadsheets with people.

I will, although I suspect not: it's not really a good investment on their part, you know?

Our wings are not tired

I have had luck in the past getting them to transfer lifetime service. One of our TiVo HD machines is running on the lifetime account I paid $99 for in 1999 on an original TiVo.
