"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

So my new Cradlepoint router and MiFi modem are love. The setup was super simple, except for the part where I failed to turn the modem on and then spent fifteen minutes troubleshooting why it didn't see the device.

Now I'm trying to set up cascading routers so that the Cradlepoint and my existing Linksys play together. Does anyone have experience with this? And there's a switch involved, too, downstream of the routers. I kinda have no idea why I want to do it this way; I think I'd be fine just pulling the Linksys out of the chain altogether. I guess just so I wouldn't have to make changes to the existing stuff? So everything would still login to lothlorien (old router) and benefit from the connectivity of rivendell (new router)?

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Which, wait a minute, must be working, because I'm online connected to lothlorien right now asking you about this? This is such a sea change for me, not needing the dongle. Hee.

Okay, so it's probably fine, and I just need to figure out what ip address it ended up with so that I can still manage the router through the offline web interface.

Okay, nevermind, as usual the act of typing it let me figure it out. I now have lothlorien set up just as an access point, living in a demilitarized zone on rivendell. That should work, and no one should have to change anything. Now to tackle voip. And then maybe the Wii! Whee!

Look at me talking to myself! VOIP and fax SUCCESS! I am so happy getting back all my office functionality that I haven't had in over two years since I had to give up cable internet.

All is well that ends in pizza.

So, I'm back on my iBook. My G4 magically came back o when I randomly pressed the power button as I passed by on Sunday.

Whee! glorious speed! it was wonderful! I downloaded ahems, I caught up on a few places I couldn't go to here, ...and I absolutely did not back up any bookmarks that I could have used here.

Then this morning came. Dead again, (only without Emma Thompson.)

Random stabbing of the power button until I get the replacement, but I am a patient and determined button stabber.

Stab............stab........stab........

Our wings are not tired

As soon an I can get the G5 packaged up it's heading your way. I believe the box for it is up in the rafters of the garage, that's been the hold up. I know at least one of the boxes for my Intel Mac Pros is up there, so it may come in that.

Cool, ND.

Hope my post didn't seem like I was pushing anything except the power button.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.
