Gud, does that count as you rickrolling?

Doc Marten USB drive: [link]
OMG I have to have that. If it came in a bigger size, I would make it our designated car stereo usb drive. That would rock. I might have to anyway, even at that size.
Isn't that always the problem with Docs, the European sizing? They never quite have your size.
I managed to fix my mothers Kindle-2 with crazy glue! Having never touched one before, I got it working again with a drop of that sticky heaven.
OK, so it was just the 5 way button that was broken. But according to Mom, it was rendered unusable. It had cracked in half, and would do random commands. Holding it upside down (so the button stayed together, and so the glue didn't get inside) I put a little dab on the edges of the crack, then with my handy dandy rarely used chip extraction tool, held the two pieces together while the glue set. Waited 45 seconds like that. Then another 5 minutes to let it set. Test. Viola! It works! Mom thinks I'm a tech god, and happy I saved her $89 (what Amazon was going to charge to repair it).
I asked awhile back about net connection on the Kindle, and y'all informed me yes it has it. Mom said it didn't. I found it pretty quickly. Woot! Question for you kindle users. Is there a free e-mail website that the kindle browser can access? Mom has a Yahoo account, but the kindle browser couldn't open it. Does G-mail work on it? Just trying to get my mom some basic net communication with the rest of the family, as she doesn't have internet (or tv) service at all.
Gmail works for me on the kindle.
omnis
have her try gmail using the mobile version. I also heard that you have to turn on (or off) the advanced brower features on the kindle.
good to know. I'll set up a google account for her, and then (hopefully) talk her through it over the phone.
Thanks LeN and SB!
if you need help, give us a holler. I can whip out my kindle and see what my settings are.
I never use gmail on the kindle. It isn't a pleasant experience, IMO.
I don't imagine it is. Looks like the browser is REAL basic, and text only. Mostly just looking to see if we can get her some e-mail ability, until I can afford to get her a cheap netbook. Although, something tells me she won't want to go to a Starbucks or Barnes & Noble to use the free wi-fi.
