30 Old PC Ads That Will Blow Your Processor

I used to have about two dozen of the ACE 1200 models I grabbed out of the pile someone dropped off at the city dump in my hometown.

God I ad fun tearing them apart and got a good many of them to work.

Alas, I eventually had to dispose of them.

At least I don't think there are any more at my mom's house...

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

This is less about technology and more about, well, phone contracts but I am wondering how one gets an iPhone if your cell phone provider is not AT& T. I have until October 17 with my current t-mobile contract- would I just wait until then? How do you then make sure you keep your number?

I have lost my cell phone, so I thought it would be a perfect time to upgrade, but I have no idea how!

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Okay, others might chime in here, but I believe the only way for you to use an iphone on t-mobile is to buy an unlocked iphone (and it may need to be jailbroken as well, but I'm not sure).

I might check ebay and see which ones are unlocked away from at&t service.

I am OK switching to AT & T, but I literally do not know how to go about it-- like do you cnacel t-mobile and pay their fee first, then buy the phone, then sign up with ATT, or do you buy the phone, transfer your number, then cancel the t-mobile.

I have never switched carriers before.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I'm not sure the iPhone 4 has been jailbroken or unlocked yet. The earlier models have, but you'd have to get them on the grey market.

If you'd rather just wait until your T-Mobile contract runs out, it's easy - Apple/AT&T will handle everything for you in terms of switching on your service.

Sophia,

you might still be able to get an iphone 3gs if you don't want to deal with the iphone 4 drama.

Jessica's right, ATT will handle the phone number switch, etc. I don't know how long it takes, but it can be pretty efficient. No need to get a new number if you don't want one.

You may want to call tmobile just see how much the cancellation fee is, but I think you will need to cancel the acct with them after att has made the switch.

Every time I've switched carriers this has been automatic as long as I was porting the number.

I have never changed carriers, so I don't about this.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Has anyone used HTC Incredible? I put in for an upgrade on my phone but I have been waiting for the damn phone for WEEKS because they are out of stock. I wanted to stick with Verizon, as they offered me a good deal (rebates and discounts for being a loyal customer, etc., so the phone actually costs only $100), plus I get 20% discount for both voice and dataplan through work, but the waiting is getting ridiculous. I know Incredible got awesome reviews from Wired and CNET and everywhere, but I am thisclose to chucking it all and just getting an iPhone (except then I'd want an iPhone4 with bigger capacity and that's $200 more than what I'd have paid for the Incredible. BAH.)
