I think Home and Student is actually $146, but a must have, IME.
Buffistechnology 3: "Press Some Buttons, See What Happens."
Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!
Well, mine cost $90, but I got it during back-to-school season and it was discounted.
Crap, it's $125 right now. [link]
I'll bet you'll see it on sale in about a month.
That's still a great deal for the product.
Mine is 2007 as well, maybe Microsoft upped the price a bit with 2010.
In the meantime, you might try OpenOffice.org (free software). IMO not as good as MS Office (though some disagree) but far better than Google Docs (don't think anyone would disagree with that). If there is a gap between your old license expiring and getting your new office, it will get you through much better than Google Docs. Also even after you get MS Office, OpenOffice does do certain things better than MS. It is much better translation software for moving stuff between formats. And, though not really a full fledged desktop publishing software, Open Office will do modest desktop publishing better than MS office. So it is worth having on your computer even if you use MS office as your main productivity software.
the $10 / month service will feature entire seasons of shows that are available in limited quantities on the free service, as well as other programming not available via Hulu on the web. There will be iPod and iPad apps available (streaming with WiFi or 3G), along with support for Samsung connected TVs and Blu-ray (via Samsung Apps). Also in the works is support for TVs and Blu-ray players from both Vizio and Sony (fall 2010), PS3 (July) , and Xbox 360 (as part of a "custom experience" in Xbox Live Gold, early 2011).
The streaming to other devices and the price point is good, but, already having Netflix, and not having a lot of extra money, I don't think I shall be signing up just now.
those were great, le nub!! my co-workers kept looking at me cause i was cracking up.
