I've had all three, and vastly preferred Verizon. Of course, the service in your area is key. I would talk to friends in town.

I have Verizon and have never had a problem.
Verizon`s cap is 5gig. But boy howdy do I know, since it`s my primary internet connection. Now, mind you, I have unlimited data on my not-smartphone (Env3...I don`t pay for the extra smartphone plan), but that`s only usage on the phone itself, no tethering. I could tether, but it would cost me another $50/month and would have the 5g limit. However, Verizon`s coverage is vastly superior in my rural world. And Alltel dumped me for being too high a usage customer. So I kinda have no choice.
I wonder how much data I use on my iPhone. Bulk of it is e-mail and B.org.

Huh. Seems the last 7 months, my usage has been between 57 and 110 Mbytes per month. So a 2Gig cap wouldn't be horrible. Since the new OS for iPhone won't be available for my first gen phone, I'm thinking about upgrading.
o_a, you won't have to give up your unlimited plan even if you upgrade to the newest gen. See Jessica's info a few posts up. Current customers are grandfathered in.
Yeah, I have a Verison MiFi unit, and even on months when I've been on jobsites and have used it quite a bit I've nowhere near the 5 GB cap.
As long as you aren't streaming video all the time that's a pretty good cap. Consider that a full CD uncompressed is only 640 MB, you can actually move quite a bit of information.
Verizon it is. Now I have to go over there and pick a phone. And probably cancel cable to cover it.
I was actually shocked that I, who gets tons of crap from family about how much I am on my phone, only used 242MB at my max, and was normally between 100-200MB.
