With the help of a gift certificate for birthday, I got myself a Sony PRS600 e-reader. The killer feature for me is the ability to scribble on it with a stylus. This'll let me replace printing out stuff with the reader to a great degree, especially useful at the park and such. The printing I'll be avoiding could pay for the device eventually. So far that part works brilliantly.

I also have a couple of e-books on hold for download with the library, to use it for the intended purpose.

It's a very solid feeling device, but I would like a little bigger frame to make holding it a bit more natural. That said, I can hold it and turn pages with one hand, so maybe Sony knows what it's doing.

Has anyone messed around with Google Chrome OS? I've got it running in Parallels, now, but I am pretty sure I don't know how to use it to greatest advantage...

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I had it running in Parallels too, but that was a year or more ago. I too wasn't sure what to do with it once I got it running.

Hm. Good to know.

Trust my rage

I feel like this is a dumb question, but...

I recently somehow ended up with the Google Chrome browser on my computer. I've been trying it out and I like it but I can't get videos to play on it (or Pandora). I think I have installed Java and WMP(I'm not very adept with Windows machines), but still, no video.

What am I missing? And why would Google make a browser that doesn't just play video.

It sounds like you're missing Flash.

You can get it from here . . .

The iPad and Velcro - A Match Made in Heaven

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

That video makes me want an iPad more than anything else has! The iPad is in some precarious situations, there, though; I'm not sure I'd trust velcro to keep it safe. Though given my cats' tendency to knock stuff off, "attached to the ceiling" might be the safest place.

Nice! That solves some of my I-need-my-iPod-but-Ihave-no-pockets problems, I think (with an easy upgrade when/if I get an iPad...)
