If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Um, I don't know? The coax goes from the sat box into the Tivo, then the little red/yellow ones from Tivo to TV. That is the level of my technical expertise.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That's what I needed to know, thanks

I'm also considering getting a second receiver that is not a DVR and hooking it up to the Tivo. It would let me record more channels, but would also cost me a little more money and require reorganizing the shelves all this stuff sits on. Dither.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

The TiVO page, on which I now am, says:

It's official! TiVo and DIRECTV have renewed their partnership, which means a new HD DIRECTV DVR featuring the Emmy® Award-winning TiVo service is expected to launch in 2010!

Oh! Huh. More to dither with.

Our wings are not tired

I though an iPad couldn't multitask? That would make a netbook a no-brainer for me. I want to be able to listen to Pandora while writing my report on how many questions we got asked at the desk this month.

Not completely accurate. While you can't listen to Pandora and do something else, you can listen to anything in your iTunes library on the iPad while running another application like Evernote or Pages to write your notes.

Also the upcoming iPhone 4 OS release is opening up multitasking support even more, so the wish for Pandora while working may be available soon.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

What ND said, with the added note that Pandora was specifically the app they used to demo multitasking, so it's pretty certain it'll be there.

My plan is to wait for the OS upgrade and see where things stand then wrt app availability and etc. I tell myself this is "prudence" and "saving" and "not getting version 1 of something new" and other such smrt-sounding stuff, but in fact it's "I don't even know yet if I'm going to fencing nationals and how the fuck much it's going to cost and wtf is up with the broken air conditioner anyway". Still, though, I lurve the iPad and I lurve the iPad + Evernote combo even more and if it weren't for the stinkin' AC I'd probably buy one one the way home.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

The rumor about Directv & Tivo getting back in bed together has been out there so long that I need to have the product in my hands before I consider it anything other than vaporware. But until then you can pry my old directivo out of my cold dead hands.

Well. My phone used to send my cellphone photos as jpg attachments. Now, I'm getting them as html documents, I guess embedded in the email. Maybe Virgin changed their policy; I didn't change any settings. Frick. This may be the annoyance catalyst that finally gets me to the Verizon store down the street for a Droid.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

I finally pulled the trigger and just ordered the new Tivo. Mine is over 6 years old and the hard drive is so tiny. Anyone else have a Tivo Premier? Any opinions?

Suzi, you wanna sell your old one?
