I've used all colors of RCA cables interchangeably.

No, they should be the same.
I mean, you're talking about cables with RCA connections on both ends, right?

Anyone know where I could get a 25' power strip/extension cord? My boss doesn't want to chain extension cords together, but she also wants to plug three pieces of equipment in that are nowhere near an outlet.
(Ideally I'd be looking for something like a Power Squid, but with a 25' tail.)
Triple outlet extension cords are pretty common I think. I have a couple I got from Wal-Mart I think.
Here's one.
No, they should be the same.
Technically no they are not. In most cases they will pass signal, but the lines that are used for video transmission are designed to carry a broader bandwidth than the audio only lines. Typically you won't see a difference, especially on short runs, but audio lines used to pass video are more susceptible to interference and drop outs. Audio should always be fine running across video lines, but the reverse is not always true.

Damn. Thanks, ND.
Depending upon what you are doing with it the wrong cables will probably work with no problem Jon. I just wanted to clarify that from a technical specifications standpoint they are not identical.
What happened was I sold someone a used HD Tivo and included the red/white/yellow cables but no red/blue/green cables. She's complained to me about it and I want to know if I am morally OK in saying "no difference!".
The main problem I can see is that if she uses the red/white/yellow cables for the component video, she won't have any left for audio. (Also, she should just go online and buy a cheap HDMI cable. It will look *much* better than component.)
I think her TV doesn't have HDMI.
I told her that she should first try the red/white/yellow. If that doesn't work out, I'll refund her the cost of a set of component cables. Amazon has them for $3.49.
