All is well that ends in pizza.

I was reading somewhere that having it wide instead of tall makes the keyboard livable.

I quite imagine having a typewriter copy stand at home along with a bluetooth mouse and keyboard would make it even better when one was not on the road/away form home.

Maybe an antique wood copy stand or mini easel would be neat.

I'm posting from the Apple Store on an iPad. The keyboard is better than i thought
Not a glowing recommendation. Is it good? or just acceptable?

not for the faint at heart.

Trust my rage

Omins, I liked the wide keyboard setup. It worked well enough to me to type longer things. It was thinner and lighter than I thought. I think I could hold it with one hand comfortably, like to read or watch a movie.

I didn't buy one. They suggested I wait in line until 3pm and I said nonthank you. Honestly, for me at this point it would mostly be a toy. I'm having trouble coming up with a need. But I would like it because my kids often want to watch movies on my phone and I would like to watch stuff myself from time to time.

The status is NOT quo.

Drew is away at a conference and I am stuck at home waiting for his new iPad to arrive. I can't open it until he gets home on Tuesday. So not fair.

you can buy packing tape. He'd never know the difference. "I dunno honey, maybe it comes preloaded with those movies" or "it must have automatically sync'd with iTunes while stuck in the box. Ya know, this house does have a lot of wi-fi". He's at USITT. Tons of booze. He might be fuzzy headed enough to actually believe it.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I can't open it until he gets home on Tuesday.

Sure you can! Tell him the Buffistas said it was okay. Do you need us to write you a note?

I have my iPad (posting from it right now AIFG!) and so far, I love it! Like a giant iPhone. Big beautiful touchscreen goodness.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I'm trying to help a friend - her MacBook got frelled during a software update. We ran Disk Utility and it says:

Disk Utility can't repair this disk. Back up as many of your files as possible, reformat the disk, and restore your backed-up files.

But it can only be booted from an installatin DVD, and she wants to get her files off if possible. Could it be booted in disk target mode? Does that only work if you have a Firewire cable?

eta: Yeah, we need firewire. And her old iBook appears to be dead, so I'd need to grab my MacBook....

So, what are the odds it'd still work in Target Mode?
