Mal: You tell me right now, little Kaylee, you really think you can do this? Kaylee: Sure. Yeah. I think so. 'Sides, if I mess up, not like you'll be able to yell at me.

Because books.

I don't know about WEP, but it is a secure network -- it's our Time Warner internet, which requires a key, etc. All that was input properly, and like I said, it shows that I'm connected? But it also says I'm not, and IE won't open any pages.

Our wings are not tired.

Sometimes the icon showing you internet connectivity really means that it sees the wireless, but you're not actually connected (even if that status says "connected").

What do you see if you right-click on wireless icon in the bottom right corner of your screen?

Also, what brand of router and what kind of laptop?

Because books.

Not sure because Stephen is now taking a shot at it. And I have to put Sara to bed.

The shiny is wearing off! Hmph.

You'll get there. One thing that is common with Win 7 is that you may need to upgrade the firmware in your router (it's easy to do). But I can't help you confirm that without knowing the specs on your router.

Lurching from one disaster to the next.

I'm not upgrading to Windows 7 at least until ProTools has been upgraded to play nice with it (the Win 7 compatible version is currently in beta). But if I intend to upgrade eventually, then I might as well get it for cheap when I can, right?

A very late response, I know.

Jon, my mate, Damian, is waiting for the very same reason. However, he's even going so far as to **gasp** contemplate getting a Mac. While working with Peter Gelling he found out the Mac version has features greyed out in the PC version.

The Mac version of ProTools has traditionally been a bit more feature rich than the windows version. It's also been consistently more stable. It's mainly because the user base for ProTools HD is largely Mac so Avid puts their resources there.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Thanks, Jimi. It's something to consider the next time I need to upgrade my hardware, but I think (hope!) that's still a couple of years away.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Okay, just updating my Amazon experience from this post: le nubian "Buffistechnology 3: "Press Some Buttons, See What Happens."" Feb 26, 2010 5:15:08 pm PST

Suffice it to say, the birthday gift arrived late, but arrived, and Amazon did refund nearly my entire purchase price of the items - I think it was because I am a Prime member and this was marked as a gift.

I'm kind of surprised by it all. But I must admit that this is one of the best customer service experience I have ever had.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Folders4Gmail stopped working this morning - anyone else seeing this problem or know how to fix it? I already checked for updates and restarted Firefox.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.
